I love clients who trust me completely. Sage & Jay were one such couple. They wanted something unique for their engagements, so I told them I'd find the perfect location, and I told them I'd be shooting their entire session on film (a first for me). It all paid off!

Courtney & Lance- Film Engagements

These two got hitched on Saturday... and while everyone is waiting for the wedding photos, I thought I would share some of their film engagement session too. We did two locations here in Warsaw, IN for their engagement photography. Since I'm still learning to add film to my work, I only did a limited selection on my film camera. Here are the favorites from me.

Rya + Landon (Take Two!)

No understatement to say film has taken over my life. When Rya asked me why I loved film so much, I'm pretty sure I mumbled something that made her think I was crazy... however, when I sent her the scans from the film I had shot at their engagement session, she emailed back that she could SEE why I love film!

And I hope you can too.

Courtney & Lance- Engaged! (Warsaw, IN Wedding Photographers)

These two are just adorable.... All my couples are, but these two just have the heat, the cuteness down! Sam actually left this session saying they were the "Cutest thing ever!". My husband does not say things like that without a pretty good reason!

 I love that they can laugh together- laughter & joy carries a marriage far!

Laura & Todd- Engaged! (Warsaw IN Wedding Photographer)

So I was trying to figure out which engagement session to post, and I realized Laura & Todd are getting married on Sunday!! So, I'll start with them!

These two are so adorable together- and they clearly enjoy being with one another. Makes my job amazingly easy, but don't tell them I said that!! ;)

These two really make my heart glow! Not only did they scout out great locations to use for their engagement photography in Fort Wayne, but they even brought along a picnic!! Unfortunately I don't have my film back from their session, BUT that means I'll just get to do another blog post when I do! For now, you will just have to enjoy these amazing digital captures my husband Samuel and I took!

Lindsey & Cody- Engaged!! (Warsaw, IN Engagement Photographer)

These two... they make me laugh! They are adorable together, and separate, and when we met for engagement photos, they told me they were awkward in front of the camera! So either I worked some magic here, or we were able to just capture what they couldn't see yet! But it's pretty amazing- what we got!

Brandi + Sean = Engagement! (Fort Wayne, IN Wedding Photographer)

 Every once in a while, I shoot a session (like every one *wink*) that I just can't wait to share! Brandi & Sean's engagement session was so awesome, and I really thought that with my digital images, I was good to go... then, I got my film scans back! Holy Cow! I didn't even think I had this in me!! I am so in love with what we were able to produce on film, so here is a little sneak peek at our new film look, followed by some of our digital work as well!

Johannah & Anthony- Engaged! (Warsaw, IN Engagement Photographer)

Johannah and Anthony are seriously one of the cutest couples we've had in front of our cameras. Even their shoes are adorable! (You'll see!) We met in a neat little park, tucked away in Mentone, Indiana. We brought cupcakes- they brought the heat!

Cheryl & Bryan- Engagement! (Warsaw IN Wedding Photographer)

We have been so blessed to have the most adorable couples to photograph this year! This engagement session we shot was no exception! Cheryl and Bryan had me "Awwwww"ing behind the camera all night! Can't wait for their wedding!!

Rock The Shot- Backlighting

Rock The Shot is having another contest I wanted to join... this time it is backlighting, and this time Sam just caught this really sweet shot last Saturday, during an engagement session! I knew it was the perfect one to use!

Heidi & Paul- Engagement! (Warsaw IN Wedding Photographer)

I love this couple. LOVE them! I don't think I have ever smiled so much for a session, and I was behind the camera!!

From the moment I met Heidi, who is the sweetest person, I was in love with her, her fiancé, and her wedding! However, I don't like to feel as though I've rushed people into hiring us, so I usually leave them the decision to contact us with the good news. While I waited for her email, I was secretly plotting ways to some how meet her & Paul again, or maybe stalk their wedding. See, from the moment I met Heidi she was positively beaming, or so I thought. When I asked her about Paul, she went super-nova! The girl is IN LOVE!

Well, lucky for me, a few days later I got the email that made me jump out of my chair & do a little dance!! (Yes, I'm a nerd!) I'm doing the wedding, and I get to do an engagement session too! (Note to future brides, we do your engagement session for no charge if you hire us for the wedding- and our engagement sessions are awesome- as you will see!)

Our first date for an e-session was rained out... and I told them it was probably for the best. I believe everything happens for a reason! We were finally able to get a date where Paul was in town, and the sun wasn't playing hide-and-seek too much- and boy did we have fun!

I've been trying to do some new and different things this year, and one is that we shoot massive engagement sessions, and now I'm going to try to blog what I feel is enough to give you a sufficient taste of our evening together! Additionally, I asked both the bride & groom to give me a reason why they love each other, and it made me positively melt:


Heidi:

"His gigantic smile

He loves God

The way he looks at me with those green eyes

He really listens to me"

Paul:

"Her smile pulled me in and is never letting go" 

 

See what I mean? I LOVE these two!! And now, on to the magic we found between them:

And now a location & outfit change, because we can!

And then we changed locations again, because Paul had proposed at Center Lake!

You gotta shoot the bling!

And then they came up with the ideal of "Taking the plunge" for real!!!
