The Blake Girls- Warsaw, IN Lifestyle Photography
I was very blessed to be able to spend part of the day following the Blake Girls around, capturing their life. They are a wonderful pair of sisters, who have a special, and very active, bond, and I hope this tiny glance gives you some idea of how amazing they are. (For their full gallery- Go Here!)
I am now offering Family Life Sessions and if you mention this post upon booking, I will include a complimentary 8x10 print with your package. Don't miss out on capturing the essence of your family!

Film Is Not Dead (Chicago)- A Workshop Review
In July I traveled up to Chicago to take a 3 day film photography workshop, called FILM IS NOT DEAD (FIND) by Jonathon Canlas. I was at a place in my career where I felt like I needed to Bring It, and Jon teaches you how to do just that.
I had carefully researched the idea of doing a workshop, and presented the idea to my husband, Sam. He was less than thrilled about the price tag, but did agree that if I felt I needed to grow, we needed to find a way to help me do so. I chose Jon's because he clearly has a way of helping people find their path in photography, and because I literally could not find a bad review about his workshop. There's a reason for that.
Workshop isn't really a fair word to use to describe FIND. There is a workshop- a 3 day event, complete with amazing food, fabulous (really, really fabulous) live models, and also involving some of the most intense teaching ever. But the workshop starts when you sign up, and it evolves into something that can only be called Family. I met my 2nd family in Chicago. And They. Are. Awesome.
Jon is an excellent teacher. Patient, thorough, kind, with the right amount of sarcasm. No question goes unanswered. He's also just plain fun to watch when he is working! We got to observe him work with models all three days and he is fascinating!
I believe the best thing about FIND is that after the workshop is over, you still have all the connections you've made. That family is there to answer questions, to help you mold yourself into that photographer you want to be. To make you laugh when you need it most. To help you realize you are awesome, and the journey is just as important as the destination.
Not only would I do this again (in a heartbeat!), but I'm planning on sending Sam to FIND eventually. He's only experienced it through me, but when I asked him if he thought the experience was worth it- He said "Every penny!" And that's a way better testimony than I could provide! ~Naomi

Dream... and learn... (Warsaw IN Family Photography)
A couple weekends ago, my husband was out of town, and I needed an assistant for some family sessions I was doing. I ended up hiring my sister for the day. She's only 12, but an exceptional photographer.
Anyway, she captured a great moment, and I immediately edited and posted it on Facebook. When I posted it, I made sure to note that I had edited, but she had taken it. Anyway, we all know how glitchy FB can be at times, and somehow that info is no longer there... and the bottom line is, she was offended because she felt I was taking credit for her work.
So, here, in all its glory-
And, in case you are wondering if she really is only 12, this one is shot by me-
She is, she's an amazing assistant, and she really did shoot that photo above! The End!

And Baby makes FOUR! (Winona Lake Maternity Photography)
It is no secret I love this family! I was thrilled when I found out they were expecting, because I love working with them and they are just the sweetest family!
The Carters first hired us back in May of 2010 to capture their first maternity session. They were taking a bit of a chance, as Samuel & I were still learning the business, but they've grown with us and it has been great!
Love the name!!

The Cole Family- 1 year! (Indiana Family Photographer)
I was having a bad day when I got the text. My brother, my Sister-In-Love (a phrase she coined, but we all use) and their adorable daughter all live too far away on the west coast. Can't blame them though, Washington state is gorgeous and appealing. I have often felt like my own journey may one day lead there.
Anyway, back to the text message. "Guess who is doing S's 1 year photos?!!"
Me, in a bad mood: "I dunno. Who?"
My Sis-In-Love: "YOU!!!!"
Ok, and bad mood is gone!!!!! Their little family were able to visit Indiana a few weeks ago, and while here I got to capture S growing up again! (If you remember, we were able to do photos when they were here for Christmas- Link!)
Here's just a sample of my precious niece:
Love this one of her showing Daddy how to "smell" the flowers:
Chris & Chanti, we love taking photos of your little family. You are so blessed! ~Naomi
