Things I See... Beach Babies! (Warsaw, IN Photographer)

A few weeks back I spent the day shooting film. The lovely Ashley Stills (of Tommy Vance Productions) met me at Winona Lake Park with her adorable daughter, Zoey. She had a friend meet her there, also bringing along an adorable daughter, also named Zoey! The two girls made a bee-line for the beach, and here are the results!

 Oh the cuteness...

Things I See... Yellow! (Warsaw, IN Photography)

Sam & I were on a drive home from a wedding, when I saw this field of dandelions & requested he pull over. I found the truck in a neighboring parking lot. I kinda fell in love with yellow. ~N

Things I See- Miss Mallory (Warsaw IN Photographer)

So Mallory is one of my volunteers who let me use them as a model. I really was just using these sessions to familiarize myself with some new equipment and film, but the results really rocked my socks off! Hope Mallory loves these as much as I do! ~Naomi

This was just an afterthought shot, but I totally love it!

Things I See... Leap Day Wedding! (Warsaw, IN Wedding Photographers)

This is a little different from my normal wedding posts- this was a wedding I shot on film, so I chose to just blog my shots. (Sam's were great- probably mostly better than mine, but I thought it would be unique to present just what I saw, so I did.) Enjoy! ~Naomi

Love this little sneak peek here-

Things I See... Miss Ellen (Warsaw, IN Child Photographer)

Ellen got the ultimate bonus a homeschool kid can get- time away from school to help a lowly photographer learn to shoot on film! She was a lot of fun and I hope she loves these as much as I do!

When I saw these boots I knew we HAD to use them!! Too cute!!
 And, my personal favorite-
Thanks so much, Ellen, for being a model for me! I hope you had fun, and I hope you like the photos! ~Naomi

Things I See- Little Miss B (Warsaw, IN Photographers)

There is just something about film... a quality, a yumminess, something that draws you in. I've been practicing film lately, but only on inanimate objects, which after a while is a little boring. So on my day off this week I met Grace (of the awesome Whalen Creative Group) and her itty bitty daughter, Miss B, to shoot some film with real live people! Here are the results:

Grace & B, Thanks so much for playing with me! ~Naomi

What we are working on... (Warsaw, IN Wedding Photographers)

I'm behind on blogging again, and instead to posting the latest & greatest, or even finally getting our last wedding for 2011 up, I'm going to post about my heart. You can see my heart in the photo above- the two loves of my life: My husband, and my film camera.

Film has actually become rather trendy in photography these days, weddings in particular. I'm not shooting film because it is cool. I'm shooting it because it is where my heart is. I'm following my heart. Doing what I love. And while I love shooting weddings- what I love MOST is shooting film.

In a move that is huge for me, Samuel and I made the decision to have me attend a workshop in Chicago in July called FIND (Film Is Not Dead). I'm going because I am trying to reconnect with what I truly love, and trying to spread my wings.

Even though growth requires pain, I am loving where I am going. And I hope you do too. ~Naomi

Laura & Ben - The re-edits!

I decided to retouch the engagement pictures I shot because I've learned a bit more since I did them. Here's the new set. I really like the softer touch, especially since it seems to give them a more emotional feel! ~Naomi

Kelsey- Class of 2011

Kelsey is such a great person! When she told me her previous senior portraits hadn't turned out very well, I actually asked her to let me have a shot at 'em!

She has a great natural smile & ease about her, plus she has an awesome sense of humor! This true cowgirl made my very first senior session a piece of cake! (And I'm on a diet!)

Can't wait to have another chance in the spring, Kelsey! ~Naomi

Duke

Duke is our 8 year old pitbull mix. I adopted him from the local shelter when I worked there. He actually picked me out to be his owner! He's a sweet little charmer & the friendliest dog you will EVER meet! I'm hoping to actually do a kids book about him, which is why I wanted some photos to work with. I'll add some more later, but here are a few I like!

Just one kiss, pleeeeeease!

Handsome fellow

Yes! Another kiss!

Two of my silly guys!

Entries

These are our entries for the 2009 Warsaw Community Public Library Photo Contest. Sam's are first. I had to pick them for him because he thought all his photos were not worthy. *shakes head*

Samuel Karth- Autumn Color

I'm a little nervous about having my face hanging in public like this, but it is one of his better shots from this year.

Samuel Karth- Naomi In Roses
My color pick is this macro I did of Leia. She's the only one of our cats that holds still enough for me to get macro shots!

Naomi Karth- Princess Leia
And this is possibly one of the best pictures I've ever made. I love it & am glad to have a reason to frame it so we can have it on our wall now!
