Brownies, brownies!

Yesterday I mentioned on Facebook my amazing recipe modification for dairy/egg free brownies... and got quite a few requests for the recipe, so here ya go:

Cruelty-Free Cake Brownies
Preheat oven to 350 F & grease an 8x8 pan.

Combine 1/2 cup olive oil or melted margarine with 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce. Add 3/4 cup of sugar. Fold in 1/2 cup cocoa powder, just enough to blend. Beat 2 Tbs of ground flax seed with 6 Tbs of warm water. Add to brownie batter, then stir in 1 tsp of vanilla.

In a separate bowl blend 1 1/2 cups flour with 1 tsp of baking powder & 1/4 tsp baking soda. Add to brownie mixture. Lastly stir in 1 cup of almond milk. Pour mixture into greased pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, using a toothpick to determine when thoroughly baked. Let cool & enjoy!

You could easily add nuts (which I didn't because Sam doesn't like) or chocolate chips (which we didn't have, which is why I made the brownies in the first place)!
