I think the best Christmas gift we received this year was my oldest brother & his wife visiting from Washington... with their 5 month old daughter! It was very exciting to meet Sidonia for the first time, and she did not disappoint! She smiled & drooled her way into the family's hearts! I'm pretty sure she had to go through some sort of audience withdrawal when she got back home and realized she wouldn't have 6 or 7 people crowded around her, watching her every move!
My Christmas gift to my brother and sister-in-love was to take photos of their little family! And even though it was cold- we got some good stuff!
I love how she is peeping suspiciously at me- if she could talk I bet she would've warned Mom and Dad that I was stalking them!
This was one of her "Everyone thinks I'm hilarious" moments! Us Coles like to make people laugh!
I love that she has got both Dad and Mom's fingers in her clutch!

Winter Wonderland
I love taking walks in the winter, and joy be mine, my husband gave me a teeny-tiny pocket camera for Christmas (surprise!) so I can walk a little more easily these days. (My last pocket camera was doomed to collect dust when I dropped it with the lens extended. I did get a really cool shot of a praying mantis before I dropped it though! Since then I've been carrying around one of our DSLRs when I walk, and it is hard on the neck!)
Here's a little collection of snaps from my walk this morning. Most of these photos were taken in the space between the ground & 4 feet. Never underestimate what you might find when you look down!
One last note- All my images from now on will be watermarked, as I found out people were "borrowing" them without asking permission. I don't like the added work, but I also don't like all those stories you hear about people being sued for copyright infringement... so on goes the watermark! ~Naomi

A new year cometh...
For Christmas my husband got a wedding band. Prior to this one his experiences had been disastrous! One even caused a rash, so for a while he had what I lovingly called a "Rash Ring".
I love this shot of our wedding bands together. It embodies what my hope is for this new year- togetherness. I married my best friend. He is still my best friend. And yet... I wish for us to grow even closer, as we are hoping that this shiny new year will bring us closer to adding to our family through the blessing of adoption.
My hope for you in the new year is that you will find what you desire and need, and that you will know when the two aren't compatible! ~Naomi
