Laura & Ben- Warsaw Engagement Photography Oct 2010

Love on the golf course... Laura & Ben both grew up on golf courses, Ben is a golf professional & they even got engaged on the green! So naturally, the golf course is where we went for engagement photos. These two are so sweet and fun, and it looks like they're going to have a great married life ahead of them!

Since neither Sam nor I had ever stepped foot on a golf course, we were a bit worried about breaking some unknown, but unforgiving rule of being out there. Luckily I think we did okay, for newbies, and my worst fear (a shattered lens from a flying white ball) did not come true! Whew! Thanks for a great afternoon, Laura & Ben! We're glad you love the photos & we cannot wait to shoot your wedding! ~Naomi

Ok, the blue sky- just yum!

This is a Sam catch-

And this one too-

I love how Laura is glowing here, and Ben looks so protective- definitely sparks flying here!

I had to use Sam's camera to capture this while we were bumping along on the course, but I'm glad I caught it:

And here is their video of all the photos:

Walking the walk

This photo means many things for me... for over a year now I have faithfully been walking outdoors almost every day. That means I've lost weight. That means I've been able to watch nature change. That means I've also gotten to be a better photographer, as each day usually finds me with a camera in tow!

This is my "wedding ring". My original ring, a beautifully hand carved wooden ring, made with extreme love by a friend, no longer fits me. It is actually two sizes too big now! My current ring was picked mainly because the color of peridot is similar to a tennis ball... and it was in my price range! But now it is too big as well, and often slips off my finger- which is how I ended up with this shot. I was walking along Beyer Farm greenway, with my camera, snapping the fall colors. My ring slipped off my finger, and I decided I'd better capture a shot of it before it is gone for good! (I have a habit that when I lose things- I lose them for good! The same thing goes for breaking things- if I break it, it won't be repairable!)

I hope you enjoy the what this photo captures- the warmth of the changing season, the hope of changing a body for the better, and the symbol of a love that never ends. ~Naomi

NEWS!!

Exciting new things on the horizon for Double K- We're working on setting up a real (oooh ahh!) website. Hoping it will be ready in the next month or so, so stay tuned!

We will also be having some pricing changes starting in 2011. All our sessions will be increasing in price, except for our wedding package. Our wedding package will be staying $800, but we actually will be including a few new things- such as a complete online gallery to share with family & friends for prints, and complimentary slideshows.

We will be upgrading some equipment, and we also have some time constraints, which is why sessions will be increasing in price- you might be paying more, but the quality will be worth it!

We truly appreciate the many friends we've gained this year & are so blessed to have been able to work with you! Looking forward to what the new year brings! ~Naomi

Danielle- Class of 2011, Warsaw Senior Photos

Danielle and I go way back... and so I was pretty sure I'd know how to get her to laugh. However, in the end, my husband was the one who got the best expressions from her!! He took the squeaky toy we usually reserve for toddlers, and it was a big hit! This is just one of the many reasons I love Danielle!

This was actually the last photo I took- of her "hugging" her car!

This is CLASSIC Danielle! I missed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shoot her innocent face... I believe I was laughing too hard. However, I did catch this!

And for her 2nd set, we switched things up a bit:

Love that wind!

My favorite out of them all! I'm so glad she was willing to trek down into the swamp for this shot!
Thanks for the awesome time, Danielle! So excited about your acceptance into Manchester!! Best of wishes! ~Naomi

Tyler- Class of 2011, Whitko Senior Photos

I've been busy, so it has taken me longer than usual to do some blog posts! Sorry!

Tyler is one of those kids who is in so many activities your jaw just drops! I got tired just listening to all the sports he does! Since we were a little short on time, we concentrated on football this time around...

This is a particular favorite- love those colors!

This one is just for fun... I saw it, and couldn't resist!

LOVE this one-

Just a boy with his dog-

Awwww, too cute!

Thanks for a great evening, Tyler! You did such an awesome job, and it shows!! Best of luck for the rest of the football season!

Going blue for a good cause!

I dyed a strip of my hair blue this month for a good cause... for a cause very dear to my heart, actually. October is Interstitial Cystitis Awareness month. I suffer from IC, as do many of my friends. There is no cure, and treatments are quite costly. I am managed, at this point, through medication, lifestyle and diet changes. For so many though, IC is a completely debilitating disease. For more information on Interstitial Cystitis you may visit The IC Network or IC Association. This disease is very painful, and it is REAL. And the need for awareness & a cure is just as real!

While I was in the salon, getting my hair done, Sam tagged along for the whole three hours to take photos:
